Genus is proud to have worked with exceptional collaborators on the Walnut Street Retail Study and has received a Communication Award of Merit for the 2017 Central States ASLA Awards. Thank you to Confluence, Gibbs Planning Group and Reynolds Urban Design for helping Genus to create an award winning project for downtown Des Moines.

Thanks to all that showed up to support! Teresa's work will be on display until Friday, June 30 as part of our featured Artist series aimed to highlight and recognize Iowa artists. Located in the heart of Des Moines’ East Village neighborhood, this program is designed to expose students to a collaborative studio environment, with particular focus on urban placemaking, material research, community planning and construction detailing. The selected applicant will participate in a 10-12 week internship beginning late May.
Assignments will vary depending on the successful applicant’s skill set and aspirations. Typical responsibilities include project research, digital and hand graphics, attendance in meetings with registered landscape architects, computer production, design workshops and construction site visits. Students must possess exceptional graphic, AutoCAD, and digital production skills. The ability to produce high-quality models and renderings is preferred.
Students pursuing degrees in landscape architecture or urban design are encouraged to apply. The application deadline is March 20, 2017 at 5:00 pm CST. All candidates selected for an interview will be notified by April 3, 2017. Qualified applicants are asked to submit a resume and portfolio to: INFO@GENUS-LA.COM.
