Sumaiya is a first-year graduate student in the Landscape Architecture program at Iowa State University. Growing up in the peaceful coastal city of Bangladesh, she has an innate philosophical view of landscapes. She received her undergraduate degree in Architecture from BUET in Bangladesh. While designing an urban landscape around an MRT station in an urban core as a 4th-year studio project, she became thrilled to explore this sophisticated area of design. She is currently exploring parametric landscape, VR in landscape design and linear landscape in her research. She has recently been awarded with the Barbara King Scholarship for her research and innovation at ISU.
