An Ames native, Aaron didn’t have to go far from home to earn his landscape architecture degree from Iowa State University, where he was recognized as a 2020 National Olmsted Scholar Finalist. Traveling farther from home, Aaron has interned in Chicago and Washington D.C., gaining inspiration from a diverse group of talented designers + craftspeople. His unbridled enthusiasm for urban revitalization underpins his work at Genus, seeking positive change in communities for all. He relishes the complex issues of transportation, access to nature and improving social space, and sees the landscape as a place of inspiration. If you don’t find him drawing out his next idea, he’s enjoying the outdoors from the view just over his bike handlebars.
