Halley joins Genus prior to her final year at Iowa State University. Originally from the northern Chicago suburbs, Halley came to Iowa State to pursue a degree in Landscape Architecture and a minor in Horticulture. Her interests in ecological design, planting design, and social justice work led her to an internship with Iowa State‚Äôs Redesigning Prison Environments Project, which in turn sparked her passion for work that helps those in need and underrepresented within communities around the globe. After university, Halley plans to work on habitat restoration and design, promoting wildlife protection and strengthening the connection between humans and nature in both rural and urban areas. Her passion for design, sustainability, and nature brought her to Genus for a summer internship.
