Genus is actively working as the Landscape Architect of Record for the Des Moines Federal Courthouse project to implement the vision that was developed in conjunction with Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates and the larger GSA/consultant team. Sustainability is at the forefront as the project seeks to achieve LEED Gold and SITES Silver certifications. The site will feature constructed wetlands/biorention areas that serve as forebays to the underground detention system, irrigation that is reduced by 75% from baseline post-establishment period, native plantings with minimal lawn area, and high solar reflectance paving.
